In the poolside cocktail hour of your heart, this is the drink to sip on.
A spicy, smoky take on a paloma, Joe confesses that he sometimes likes to make his with diet Squirt—it's nice, after all, to have a flavorful sugar-free option every now and then. And Mexican squirt makes for a perfect cane-sugar-not-corn-syrup option.
Makes 1 drink
2 ounces Mezcal
4 to 5 ounces Squirt
Juice of 1/2 lime
Serrano or jalapeño pepper
In a tall glass or tumbler, muddle 2-3 slices of the pepper and lime juice. Add ice, mezcal, squirt, and stir to combine. Finish with a sprinkle of salt across the top.
