A gin and tonic is a difficult drink to improve.
But contributing cocktail editors Joe and Meredith offer an easy and worthwhile variation, where a splash of Aperol amplifies its botanical flavors and lends the drink an adorable blush.

Makes 1 drink
2 oz (4 tablespoons) "Cucumber" Gin, such as Hendrick's or Uncle Val's Botanical
4 to 5 oz (1/2 to 2/3 cup) tonic water
1/2 oz (1 tablespoon) Aperol
Orange slice, for garnish
In a tall glass, combine the gin and tonic water over ice, then pour in the Aperol. Garnish with orange slice.
